VISCERAL OSTEOPATHY

Visceral Osteopathy includes an in-depth understanding of the organs, blood vessels and nerves of the body. It aims to improve the movement of the organs and relieve tension. It focuses on improving imbalances and restrictions in the interconnections between the motions of all the organs and structures of the body.

VISCERAL OSTEOPATHY

Organs are attached by ligaments to the wall of body cavities and the spine. As you move, your spine moves and the organs that are attached also move. Previous surgeries, infections, injuries and other tension and adhesions can change the movement and restrict them resulting to affect and stress the organs.

As long as your organs are stressed and are not able to move properly, this creates stiffness or pain in the area or elsewhere in your body.

The therapeutical approach includes a gentle form of manual therapy on the areas that have tension, gentle movements of the joints that the ligaments are attached to and dietary advice for the patient. It is important for issues such as abdominal pain to have seen a specialist doctor such as a gastroenterologist to exclude any pathology or the osteopath to collaborate with your doctor.
